Haiti was crushed by a devastating earthquake on January 12th, 2010. The earthquake unfortunately took many lives, homes, and families. This was the last place in the world that could afford to have a natural disaster occur, not that any place really could afford it, but Haiti was declared as the poorest country in the world. Many of the injured are simply laying in roads in pain because of many demolished hospitals.

Haiti was crushed by a devastating earthquake on January 12th, 2010. The earthquake unfortunately took many lives, homes, and families. This was the last place in the world that could afford to have a natural disaster occur, not that any place really could afford it, but Haiti was declared as the poorest country in the world. Many of the injured are simply laying in roads in pain because of many demolished hospitals.
This has been the worst earthquake in the last 200 years. The magnitude of the earthquake was a 7.0. and the exact number of fatalities is still unknown. U.S. Ambassador Raymond Joseph and his wife were in Haiti during the earthquake and fortunately survived. There are constantly dead bodies being pulled from rubble of destroyed buildings. President Obama has made a commitment towards helping Haiti recover from this overwhelming situation.
Red Cross estimates that about 3 million people have been affected by the earthquake taken Unfortunately with earthquakes of this magnitude there statistically are a lot of deaths involved. Haiti will need more help than ever before, it's time to show that out generation can step forward and help out!
