The best way to help the three million people and coutning in Haiti affected by a destructive earthquake is through monetary donations.
Aid relief organizations are on the ground in the Caribbean nation which is the poorest in the Western Hemisphere.
Here is more information on how you can help the Haiti earthquake victims.
You can call 311 in New York City to donate. From the suburbs (including NJ and CT), people can call 311 by dialing (212) NEW-YORK. That’s (212) 639-9675.
You can text YELE to 501501. It will charge $5 to your cell phone bill and all proceeds go to Haiti Relief Efforts or go to www.yele.org.
Or text HAITI to 90999 and that will donate $10 to relief efforts and charge $10 to your phone bill as well.
